Big Band Arrangements...
Yasmin - Free
Yasmin is a composition by a good friend of mine in Switzerland, Florian Muster. He wrote this song for his little girl, Yasmin, and I arranged it for Florian and the Uptown Big Band in Bern.
It starts off and ends with a slow 3/4 trombone quartet, and then quickly gets into the samba. Each section has fun contrapunctal lines, and there are canonic sections sprinkled throughout. There is a lot of playing for the trombones in this piece, including a bone solo, and a bone soli. There are chords in the baritone sax for a bari solo, but anyone can take a solo.
